Hi there
Firt of all, congratulation for your work on linux mintppc, it gave my iMac 'lamp’ a new life ; that’s the kind of computer one don’t want to replace (especially for OSX lion).
But I’m not used to linux so even with google solving several problems, I sometimes can’t seem to find how things works.
I’m currently trying to change the background image. I found a thread about it on the forum but it didn’t solve my problem. So I tried to use feh, looks cool but I could only change the background of the terminal (WTF ?? still wondering how to get it back to normal) ; i used a «feh --bg-scale /usr/share/...» command.
So How does it work ? Is there a openbox command ?
BTW : the (gnome ?) desktop settings application isn’t working, is that because openbox is used instead ?

We are working in LXDE. That explains it all.

Desktop wallpaper. Right click on the desktop, click Desktop preferences, click Wallpaper, change.

Well, I unexpectedly made a change, so a right-click on the desktop opens a menu containing "ObConf". So I don't know where to prompt "Desktop preferences". Is there an application in /usr/bin or a command in the terminal I could use ?

I know what you mean but I don't know how to change that.

Ok, I'll just keep trying various ideas. If something works, I'll let you know.

I found that identifying the file used as a wallpaper in /usr/share/wallpapers and giving its name to another file of the same type does the trick.
