Here's the last few lines from running that command:
Code:
Errors were encountered while processing:

mintupload
python-glade2
mintbackup
vino-xfce
mintwelcome
fortune-mod
python-gtk2
python-notify
mint-common
mintnanny
mintdesktop
mintsystem
wicd-gtk
chestnut-dialer-gtk2
fortunes-husse
wicd
mint-artwork-common

I did an install of mintppc 9.2 as I kept getting stuck on select and install software with mintppc 11. From my research, I concluded that my CD drive is screwed. Is there a way to get this working? If not, could I just run this as a CLI server? Thanks for all your help.

I don't understand why you don't try an installation of MintPPC 9.3. It's so much easier than 9.2....It will normally leave you with a GUI after installation. Would you want to try another installation ? It's easier than to find out which package is broken. I am lazy by default. Only if there is no other way, I dig into the deep. Follow the instructions:

http://www.mintppc.org/content/installa ... mintppc-93

Ok, I will try reinstalling one more time. I will download this 9.3 install image and see what happens. if all else fails, I may know a friend with an external CD drive that I can use to install 11 with.

Well, I had one last question. I tried one dude's strategy of giving the root partition 10 GB, and that failed. Every time I try to install, I get stuck at "select and install software". With research, people say that I have a bad CD drive. My question is, can I use an external CD drive? I know my Hard Drive is fine because I tried to install minppc on my 16 GB Flash Drive, and I still got stuck on select and install software.

No, I didn't. Should I? That is just genius. I will try installing from USB as soon as I get access to the computer, which won't be for at least an hour, but I'll try. Thank you for all of your help!

Just 'burn' the iso onto a USB stick and boot from it, see installation instructions how to do that.

Ok, so I can't boot from the USB because I don't have a PPC computer to create the bootable stick from. When I do it from my intel macbook with snow leopard, I insert the USB inside of the PC computer, follow the instructions to boot from open firmware, and I get
Code:
can't OPEN: usb1/disk1@1:2,\\yaboot

I had an idea, though. Can I install a debian base, get a CLI version of gparted, and do it from there? I think my problem may be that I made the USB FAT32, not ext3/ext4, but I can't do any ext filesystems because my macbook doesn't support that. I think I will go on with my plan of the base system, then "burning" the USB, and seeing what happens.
