Both wicd and networkmanager fail to connect for me with the Airport card. I succeed connecting with the USB based Trendnet wifi adapter, and in fact succeeded with the configuration left from my attempts with the Airport card.

I'm quite puzzled and given the odd message from the Airport card about firmware, I can't decide if I should try a different Airport card or not.

I don't understand why your airport does not work. It works for most other people as well, including myself. I use both airport and airport extreme.

For now, I'll pull the Airport card out. I might try a different one. In the meantime, I've a working Wifi with the USB dongle adapter.

Your time is greatly appreciated.

Hi All,

Just had a very smooth install of MintPPC 9.3 on a G3 ibook blue under 320mg and a 180 hd. As per most, the WPA problem is my problem also, I note than ant2ne.com is down and tried the instructions at the debian site (http://wiki.debian.org/orinoco) with no luck.

It ant2ne out for good? Are there alternatives to fix this problem?

Thanks,

Peter

I am having difficulty with Wireless on my machine. My machine is a G4 867 12 inch powerbook that appears to be this machine:

http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/p ... 67_12.html

I did add both the airport and orinoco lines to /etc/modules but it still does not pick up even open wireless networks.

iwlist scanning reports:

wlan0 Interface doesn't support scanning : Network is down

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I'd like to report that I have this machine and, thanks to a post from linuxopjemac elsewhere, the solution was to download the b43-legacy drivers. Once I did that, my Airport started detecting networks as it should.

(btw, thanks to linuxopjemac!)
