Hi,

I successfully installed MintPPC 9.2 on a 466 Mhz Digital Audio G4, RAM 640 Mo. I'm using a SUN 17" CRT display, not yet tuned xorg.conf, so resolution are not correct, but usable (it's a very good monitor, accepting a lot of resolution/freq).

Everything run well, slowly but surely. But I do not have sound with internal Speaker (do not tried yet with headphones).

The same Mac run also under 10.4.11 installed on the first disk, work also very well, but I have more often the colored wheel.

there is a solution for your specific G4. You have to blacklist snd-aoa.

French Keyboard OK (changes done in /etc/default/keyboard, set XKbVarient to mac).
Iceweasel in french.

And finally, a build of Hatari from latest sources ( that's why I installed PPC Linux). Work, but so slowly ...

What next ? I may try a build of TenFourFox, Firefox 4 for PPC, wich work pretty well under 10.5.

Not sure that tenfourfox will build... Currently, just trying FF4 build. Well. After some hours....will see !

hum.... FF4 do not build "as is". Patch from TFF do not work also (I get a lot of FAILure while merging). I not a pro of Unix build, mercurial and so on, I like XCode

As far as I can see, Iceweasel stay at 3.5, FF4 will never be ported to PPC by mozilla nor Debian...

I am not sure whether FF4 will ever be buildable on PPC. I read somewhere that Mozilla dropped PPC completely now.
