I was initially thrown by a bad stick of ram which kept causing the install to hang, but after I replaced it and realized I had to re-name the 1mb New World partition Apple_Bootstrap in order for yaboot to work, the install went well enough.

Once the install finished I was greeted by a 1024x768 desktop instead of the standard 1152x768, but since I have Debian running on my PCs I knew to look for the xorg.conf file in /etc/X11....but there wasn't one in X11 on the G4, so I posted a request on the forum and it was answered quickly; I had to copy a working xorg.conf file to /etc/X11, and simply re-name it xorg.conf as root.

Now that everything is working (I even found a battery monitor app on one of the Debian servers) I'm really impressed; it runs far faster than OSx ever did, and with the addition of Docky I will shortly even have it looking like OSx. I may post some screenshots soon. Thanks for the help, and I'm happy to have found this community, and even happier to be able to continue to use my much-loved and venerated TiBook for a few more years!

Glad you enjoy MintPPC. I believe your model uses a Rage 128 graphics chip, so be sure to check here for video acceleration. If it is not enabled, check here for solutions.

Looks like its not enabled. I followed your solution link but it looks like the only legacy drivers they have are for i386 and AMD 64. :/
