Hi,

I have good news and bad news.

Good News:

MintPPC 9.3 installed on my iBook G4 1.42 GHz, 14" screen with bluetooth and scroll pad (scrolling works flawlessly). Install went smoothly, and had a hiccup once which required me to download a file again during the network installation. Wow, this is truly fast and an amazing OS!

*** side note*** Minitube is a wonderful addition for YouTube videos to play on my G4 PPC!

Bad News:

MintPPC 11 (debian mini net-install 20-Mar-2012) would not install following the instructions and I kept getting errors with the preconfig file not downloading. That led to the manual installation which kept giving me errors of the files not being available. I tried every server in the list, but I could not download the files

I gave up, and decided to go with 9.3... although I will be persistent with 11 until I figure it out!

Anyways, thank you and I will be donating!

The prefile not downloading and the package servers not downloading indicates that you were not connected to the internet. In 11, sometimes the auto network connecter works during install, sometimes it doesn't. In your case, it appears it didn't.

Thank you for the heads up on that. I am aware of 11 being beta, but it is just so exciting to see life brought back to my iBook G4!

I should mention that I have tried uBuntu, XuBuntu, and a whole host of other distributions and this is by far the best PPC distribution out!

What you all are doing with mintPPC is fantastic and very much appreciated! Keep up the great work!

the daily builds of the powerpc iso of Debian Wheezy are faulting lately. If you want you can email me of PM me from time to time to ask whether there is a stable build available...
