PowerBook G4/1.5 12", (1.25 gigs of RAM, I think)
nvidia nv34m geforce fx go5200 rev a1

Colors don't display right after bootup and login. If I attempt to open anything the window of whatever I try to open will blink endlessly as if I were holding down a key. I can't access anything after that.

I checked and I have no xorg.conf file. When I try to create one using # Xorg -configure I get "Number of created screens does not match number of detected devices. Configuration failed. Server terminated with error (2) Closing log file."

I got powerbook4.txt from http://mac.linux.be/content/xorgconf-fi ... lucid-lynx and its sitting in the root directory. I tried mv powerbook4.txt /etc/X11/xorg.conf but I get "no such file or directory".

I have no Linux experience. Any help is appreciated.

You have to be root to move that file. Login as root first
