I've installed mintppc 11, and when I boot I see only a command line. Is mintppc 11 a command-line OS? because if so, can I install a GUI? I followed the instructions for mintppc 11 and I boot from a CLI.
pDude: Mint11 is not only a command line OS, it should have a GUI DE, and there are even choices between GNOME or LXDE . . . so something isn't going exactly as it should in the installation. I'm trying to remember if there is a LiveDVD for MintPPC11? or 9.3?? Did you try any of those options on your machine and did that work? Like I'm sure Ubuntu has a LiveDVD for PPC, did that work to get a DE?
It could be that you can add the correct "xorg.conf" thru a TTY shell and that may be enough to get a GUI going. But you didn't mention what machine you are trying to install on in this thread, you may have mentioned in your other threads, but not here. JD would have to let you know which xorg.conf file you should try to install, based upon your machine . . . . I had no problems with my iBook on the installation, but I have had issues with trying to install 11 on my iMac . . . so sometimes the installation goes well, and sometimes there are issues, but there has to be a few more details provided as to figuring out what the problem(s) might be . . . .
