Hello Everyone,
If you have seen my previous post, you know my problem. Currently, the 32-Bit cd is not functioning on g3 machines. On my other post, I just told you the basic problem, but as I ran the installation again, I found the details of the issue. Once the installation process is over, but right before the prompt tells you to reboot, I get a "Failed to Run Preseeded Command". In this prompt there is a list of software that I assume didn't install or didn't install correctly. I did use the MSU server in the US. Do you think this a mirror issue, or (as people have told me) a Wheezy issue. I would like to have MintPPC 11!

can you please post the log file of your instalaltion ? In your newly installed system, you find it under
/var/log/installer/syslog
please attach it in this thread.

I've been doing the install on an iBook G3/600 with a daily 32-bit .iso I grabbed last night. It gets to the same point. Over on tty4 it says (partially, transcribing by hand before a test reboot)

Basically, the last failure it shows it not finding or processing libdvdcss2, and maybe clearlooks. On tty2 I ran "df -h" to be sure I had space left and I have over 1/3 of space remaining on the partition, so it's not a full filesystem like my first install...

The install finished ok after that error with just a few settings to make. Rebooted and YaBoot had not picked up the OS X HFS+ partition. MintPPC comes up fine so far to login and then desktop. I wasn't put into the sudo group so I did that from root terminal with "addgr jon sudo" and logged out/in and it worked. Airport with WPA isn't working yet, but that's not something I have tried to fix yet. Do you want the full /var/log/install/syslog to see why it might not have picked up the OS X partition and also gave the error at install? I'll have to come back and edit once I've got the file from the iBook.

I will have to look into these issues. Give me the whole syslog pls, thanks for reporting.

I don't know when I have the time to take a look into these issues. MintPPC 11 is based on Debian Wheezy which changes continuously. I have to always repair things when they get broken after some updates. Therefore I warned on the installation page that this version is for people who can stand these sort of things. You were warned

mint-artwork-gnome broken and a new version of libdvdcss2 on the debian multimedia site. I can fix that.

Yeah, I came in to this project expecting to do some work. At least, less work than a vanilla Debian install. :lol:

I think I fixed the two problems. A new version of libdvdcss2 should be downloaded and installed. Seconly, I built a new mint-artwork-gnome (2.6.13) which is no longer dependent on gtk2-engines-clearlooks but on the generic package gtk2-engines which contains the clearlooks theme. I will install a clean version of MintPPC 11 on my test machine to see if the installation proceeds without errors now.
