i tried. no ip-address. then i did a clean install of mintppc. but once again no ip-address...

It's still a mystery to me. I run a fresh install of MintPPC9 and both airport and airport extreme work for me.....

I could connect 1 time! After checking DHCP-Hostname. But after reboot, I couldn't connect anymore. Checking and unchecking DHCP-Hostname in the properties have no effect. Again no IP-address...

It works by assigning a static IP.

I cannot get connected to my access point using any type of encryption weather it be wep or wpa psk with tkip. If I turn off encryption then I can connect just fine.

thadrumr: What kind of wireless device do you use?

I have the original Airport and I have already done the steps shown here in the forum to make sure I am running the most recent modules (Airport and Orinoco). All I get when trying to connect using encryption is bad password using Wicd. I even tried to connect manually using iwconfig and it still doesn't work. I have also verified in OSX that the firmware on the card is the most up to date. Also I can connect fine using WEP while booted into Mac OSX so I know my wap is setup correctly.

you have to upgrade your firmware from within MacOS 9...

What firmware do I need? I think the one I have has version 9.52. Also I believe my mac has the most recent firmware on it as well. And you can do wireless firmware updates in OSX
