Hi folks,
I added
Minitube to the MintPPC repository. It was only available in Wheezy and as it is such a nice program, I built it for Squeeze. My experience with Minitube is not that great however. The video rendering is slow and choppy. People who own a G3 powered machine might be better off installing a program called abby and clive to download the youtube videos you want. The best way to play these files is to play them directly from the terminal in mplayer. With this I can easily watch videos on a Pismo G3/400!
An example:
install abby, clive and mplayer, in this order:
Code:
sudo apt install clive
sudo apt install abby mplayer
to launch abby you can type abby in the terminal or you Run it from the Menu, by clicking "Run" and then type abby. Then we need to set the download folder. Click Preferences, and fill in your favorite download folder.
I opted for /home/jeroen/Videos
In abby I choose to download these two locations:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qp-T530tKfQhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDU_SwLBSUwThen download the videos and then play them from within the terminal, like:
mplayer /home/Videos/MintPPCLinuxoniBookG3BootupTime.flv
Enjoy
PS This will not work on systems which were upgraded from Lenny, only natively installed Squeeze systems work.
