Hi,
thanks for further info's
First of all, I've found this G4 on a local fleamarket, without systemcd/recoverycd etc.
@linuxopjemac
I've selected MintPPC 8, because it's based on Debian Lenny (stable), as far as I understand the doc's.
But if you say MintPPC 9.1 is better, then I will try to install MintPPC 9.1
@opus68
Thanks for additional info's
Here is my HD-Partition layout on PowerMac G4:
IDE1 Master (hda) - 27,4GB Quantum Fireball KX27.3
Nr. 1 32.3 kB Apple
Nr. 2 27.6 kB Macintosh
Nr. 3 37.9 kB Macintosh
Nr. 4 27.6 kB Macintosh
Nr. 5 37.9 kB Macintosh
Nr. 6 102.4 kB Macintosh
Nr. 7 262.1 kB Macintosh
Nr. 8 262.1 kB Patch Partit
Nr. 9 5.3 GB hfs+ without titel (MacOs 9.2)
Nr.10 22.1 GB hfs+ without titel (no data)
5.1 kB free Space
So, next step is deleting PartitionNr.10 (22.1GB) to get free space.
Then creating a Apple bootstrap (1MB), but how (which tool) an how to place it before
other bootable partitions (
http://www.debian.org/releases/stable/p ... 05.html.en)
Then creating a Linux-ext3 part.(7GB) for /
Then creating a Linux-ext3 part.(7GB) for /home
an then a Linux-swap part. (1GB)
For lack of a system/-tools/-recoverycd I it could be better to use the whole disk, right?
Without dualboot.
